on our way to medford from brookings we stopped for breakfast at river valley. hubby ordered a 2-egg denver omelette and i ordered a 2-egg bacon/cheese omelette with fruit, no potatoes or toast. the omelette looked great and tasted great. my bacon/cheese omelette was delicious and they had fresh fruit! omg. what a treat to have ripe, tasty fresh fruit. the service was quick and friendliness was warm. along with great food...what more is there??

Fantastic omelettes, breakfast served "all day". Had the Ortega there, and they were very generous with the green chiles.

I love this place. Just ate here for the first time and I am very impressed. Great food, huge portions, awesome value, the staff is friendly and the facilities are clean. Very very happy.

Good food and a good value; very large portions... pancakes as big as your head (4 stars). Good service; new waitress, but very nice, attentive, and cute... she is doing great! (four stars). I didn't care for the coffee, and I like it stronger... (2 stars) Overall 3.5 to 4 stars. Worth a try.

Just passing through to visit family and stopped here for breakfast. Order an omelette and it came out huge. I'm a big guy and couldn't finish my food. The waitress sue seated us and got us our coffee and was absolutely delightful. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for lots of good food with decent prices. Can't beat a cup of bottomless coffee for only a dollar

We stopped here on the way to the coast recently. It was hot out and there was no shade, but the server let us have our 2 small dogs on the deck which was great. I had the Ruben sandwich with fries while others in my group sampled the patty melt, cheese steak sandwich, chicken fried steak and kids meals; we also had iced tea to drink. My Ruben was the bomb, nothing but delicious! The patty melt was pretty good too. The chicken fried steak was big but unfortunately overcooked and went to waste; too much time in the frier. The cheese steak was ordered without peppers but came with them anyway. Seems the cook was distracted...Finally, the tea had a strange after taste to it, I think it was the water. Im spoiled with really good water and if its different (minerality, etc) I can taste it. The service was quick and efficient as well as friendly. Id stop here again, but wouldnt get the tea!

Great comfort food and great service. The man loved the Mt Ashland breakfast. Yummy country potatoes. One of the best breakfast places, you can count on it being worth the wait. Plain decor, but the food is just plain good so who cares.

This was an awesome spot for lunch. The cheese steak, although far from authentic, was hot, delicious and cooked to perfection. Macaroni salad was awesome and fresh. It's a great place to eat for basic driving through town food.

We were excited to find a small Ma and Pa diner open in a one horse town out in the middle of nowhere that makes everything from scratch. until......While our food was being prepared by the owner... One of the other cooks blew her nose in a tissue then came out to the ice machine, dipped her cup in it to fill up with ice. I thought I was going to gag. BF said don't think about it as he choked down his breakfast.

Well to start off I came here twice and the first time was awesome great customer service the food was awesome the two brunettes were great. The waitress got us everything we needed and she was very cheerful. If I graded it for this only experience they would have gotten a 5. The second time would be 0 stars. When we got there it was busy and we understood no biggie but then there was no acknowledgement that we were there strike one but we let it go. So we looked for a spot to sit and majority of the tables were dirty ok no problem waited on the patio for 10 minutes (wow!) Finally the blonde waitress came outside and I greeted her by saying hello thinking she finally was there to help clean out table of dishes and bring our menu's but to my surprise she apologized to another customer for the wait of an item and left didn't acknowledge me the official strike one . That was so disrespectful so before I could go inside and give her a piece of my mind the lovely brunette from the first time cleared our table and took are order. But I believe she went on her break after. So strike 2 came when we were waiting for our food the crowd had long died down and we waited for 15 -20 mins the strike wasn't the wait it was when the blonde waitress came with our food no apology for the long wait. Her exact words, "who had the omelet " and just threw it on the table I was really pissed then but the disrespect. So she straight to the next customers with a smile and menus took there order and it was out in 5- 10 mins . They saw the disrespect for their self and were in disbelief. Anyway the food was sitting in the window for quite a while because the cheese on my dinning partners omelet was not melted it was cold and the blonde waitress looked at that and thought it was ok to serve to a customer. When she brought the other customers food she didn't come back to check on us to see if everything was ok she didn't care . So I caught here attention before she ran off again and I told her that the omelet was cold and inedible and all she could say was sorry in a idgaf tone. I quickly asked for the check and told the young man that the omelet wasn't good and he took it off the bill. She barely touch anything on the plate. So we tipped him. So a note for the blonde waitress you need to brush up on your attitude and your customer service because the way you acted was disgusting and could get you in a world of trouble.

My gal and I enjoyed a wonderful and well prepared breakfast and nice friendly service.

We enjoyed the food. I had a bacon avocado omelette and it had heaping amounts of both ingredients. The rest of the family also enjoyed their meals. It seemed reasonably well maintained and the service was very good.

THE best clam chowder! All soups made from scratch:) Usually you get 3 samples. All in one's taste buds but usually very delicious! Then there are flavored scones. All given as you seat yourself & prior to ordering. Good way to take the edge off the hunger appetite & try something new. Great food cooked the way YOU like it. The best place for breakfast in town!!
